Round 2 of the 209 Car Care Clinic Sports & Saloons championship, which was scheduled to be held at Midvaal Raceway on Saturday, 13 April, was abandoned after newly-repaired sections of the circuit started breaking up.
After a couple of practice sessions on Friday morning, race officials and the circuit owner brought a halt to proceedings to allow repair work on the damaged areas to be done. Unfortunately the weather had other ideas, and an afternoon storm prevented this happening.
Late on Friday afternoon the decision was made to cancel the race meeting as the circuit would not be in a suitable condition for racing by Saturday morning.
The Car Care Clinic Sports & Saloon drivers have a break of almost two months before their next event which is the annual Phakisa 200.
