Around 30 drivers should take to the track at Zwartkops Raceway on Saturday, 8 August when the 2020 Car Care Clinic 111 and GT Sports & Saloons championships will resume after a Covid-19 enforced break of over 5 months.

The leading contenders in the GT Sports & Saloons category should be Lenard Archer (ACD Hyundai i20), Wouter Roos (Car Care Clinic VW Golf) and Andre de Lange (Roofsure Ford Focus) although any of Louis Cloete (AMS Tuning VW), Bob Neill (Delmon Mining Ford Focus), Johan van der Vyver (Devlaw Subaru WRX STi) could spring a surprise. The Porsches of Richard de Roos and Stefan Snyders and the BMW Z4 in the hands of Mark du Toit could also challenge the front runners.
At the front of the 111 Sports & Saloons category, the Class A contenders always provide a good spectacle. Adrian Dalton (Xtra Clothing and Shoes VW Golf), Piet Potgieter (Nathan’s Motorsport VW Golf), Gerhard Henning (Toyota Replacement Parts VW Golf) and Waldo Swiegers (Waldo Swiegers Photography Honda Ballade) will be fighting for podium positions.
Wayne Lebotschy (Shield VW Golf) and Mark Harvey (Adapt Design & Sign Porsche 924) should fight it out at the front of Class B as they did in the opening round, while Elegant Fuels teammates Roland Hopkins and Maritz le Roux will fight for Class C honours. Reno van Heerden (VW Polo) looks like he is going to have things all his way in Class D.
The Mk 1 VW Golfs of Mark Gregory (Creative Patterns), Mark Kingsmill (Team Gregory Racing) and Pieter Kirkhoff (Lombard Tyres/Roofsure) will be joined by Yorick Smith (Phoenix Auto Spares Mazda MX5) and Joshua Weyers (Rohlig Grindrod Opel Corsa) in Class E.
Riaan Draper (Auto Classic/Blessed Wheels Ford Icon), Ismail Peck (National Motorsport Mzanzi Honda Civic), Johan van Heerden (JVH Performance VW Polo), Brian White (Toyota) and Kobus Britz (Datsun SSS) will fight it out in Class X.
With stringent Covid-19 protocols in place, no spectators will be allowed at Zwrtkops Raceway for the event.
